We redesigned the American International School of Zagreb’s website, refined its logo, and refreshed its Bears sub-brand. Our third international school project brings the school’s digital presence and visual identity together.
For an international school, a website is an important introduction. Prospective families come looking for practical information, but they also want to understand the school’s character. What does learning look like? What kind of community will their children join? How can they take the next step?
Our work with the American International School of Zagreb (AISZ) brought a complete website redesign and a focused brand refresh into one project, giving the school a renewed presence while retaining the identity its community knows.
A school website needs to connect several parts of school life. Academic programmes, admissions information, campus facilities, and community stories all contribute to how families understand the school.
The new AISZ website brings those perspectives together. Visitors can explore learning pathways, discover student life, and find information about joining the school. News and community content add a sense of what happens beyond the prospectus.
The redesign gave these different parts of AISZ a shared visual direction. It introduces the institution while making room for the everyday experiences that give the school its personality.
Alongside the website, we gave the AISZ logo a light refresh. The update carried an established identity into the new digital presence, preserving its familiar character.
That continuity matters. A school logo represents a community of students, families, staff, and alumni, and the scale of a refresh should reflect that connection.
We also updated the AISZ Bears sub-brand. The Bears bring a more expressive dimension to the school’s identity, representing school spirit and belonging.
Working on the website, school logo, and Bears identity together allowed us to consider their relationship across the project. Each has its own role, but all contribute to how AISZ presents itself.
We approach school branding and website design together, considering what should remain familiar, what needs to evolve, and how the identity will work online. The website then connects that visual presence with the information families need.
An established school already has an identity that means something to its community. An important starting point is deciding how much change the project needs.
For AISZ, the scope combined a complete website redesign with a subtle logo refinement and an update to the Bears sub-brand. These elements called for different degrees of change within one coordinated project.
A school’s main brand and its team or community identities need a clear relationship. Considering them together helps create a consistent overall presence while giving each room to express its own character.
At AISZ, refreshing the Bears alongside the main school logo allowed us to address both within the same visual direction.
The website is where many families first encounter the school’s identity in context. Design and content need to work together so visitors can understand the school and explore what matters to them.
For AISZ, the redesigned website brings the refreshed identity into a space that introduces its academic offering, campus, admissions, and community.
AISZ is our third international school project, following our work with AISB and ISB.
That experience gives us a broader perspective on the relationship between a school’s identity, its community, and its digital presence. Each project has its own context, and the scope needs to reflect the school itself.
For AISZ, the result brings a redesigned website, a refined logo, and an updated Bears sub-brand into one connected launch. We’re pleased to share the school’s new digital home.
Designatives helps international schools develop their visual identities and websites. Our work includes school brand refreshes, logo refinement, sub-brand identities, and website design, with AISZ bringing those services together in one project.
If your international school is planning a brand refresh or website redesign, we’d love to hear what you want to achieve. Whether you’re considering a focused identity update or a complete website redesign, we can help you define an approach that fits your school.
