A new website, a refreshed identity and a home for school spirit. For the American International School of Zagreb we redesigned and built the website, gave the school's visual identity a careful facelift and created a new identity for the AISZ Bears, its athletics brand. All three were planned as one system from the start, so the school, its website and its teams look like they belong together. It is our third international school project, after AISB in Budapest and ISB in Belgrade.
The AISZ identity carries years of meaning for its community, so the facelift was deliberate rather than dramatic. We refined the logo, set out a palette led by Catalina Blue, Water Blue and Red Ribbon, and paired Recoleta with Faktum: a serif for warmth, a clean sans for everything practical. Guidelines, a slide template and letterhead put the brand in the hands of every member of staff.
The new website is built for the parent comparing schools in one evening. Admissions, academics, campus life and community each have a clear path, and an illustrated, interactive campus map lets families explore the grounds before they ever visit. Behind it, a CMS lets the communications team update news, events and admissions content themselves, without waiting for a developer.
School spirit got an identity of its own. The AISZ Bears now have a mark and a kit built for match days, team pages and merchandise, from the Home of the Bears hero on the new homepage to home and away jerseys. The Bears sit clearly inside the AISZ family, so the sports brand can be loud without pulling away from the school.
